Surprising New Data: Are More Relationships Beginning Online ?

We try online dating because we have all heard the success stories. It is fair to say that just about everyone knows someone or has heard a first hand story of a happy couple that met their spouse online.

Researcher John Cacioppo say 35% of people who got married between 2005 and 2012 met online. According to Statistic Brain there are 55 million singles in the U.S. Over 90% of them have tried online dating !

An article in the Washington Post seems to indicate that all is well with online dating. In fact, according to the article, in the gay community, 2 of 3 relationships begin online.

But is the number of people finding committing relationships from online dating now going down ?

Here are some new online dating statistics

However when we look at earlier data, is the success rate actually going down ?
