What man doesn’t want the traditional wife. The woman who cooks and cleans, takes care of the kids. Somewhere along the way, that all seems to have been lost. Some say the old “women’s lib” or equality or just being independent. All may be true in some respects but there is lot more to the story. Now professional matchmakers are forging the trad wife trend.
We’re not trying to get sexist here in any way or form. Setting that aside. Think about it, women want to feel safe, secure and supported in a relationship, especially a marriage.
And men want to feel appreciated, not in a gas lighting, narcissistic way, but just that someone notices the effort that is being made.
We all talk about it’s the little things in life that matter. Sometimes just a nice breeze, a warm sunny day or just feeling good can be very uplifting.
We did a story back in 2020 about what men want and it’s interesting that some of that is still true today.
The reason we call this a trend is it seems to be new, but the reality is many couples do want this. Matchmakers, unlike dating apps or what used to be called online dating, just throw people in front of each other. There is no clear path to getting to know someone or giving a relationship time to develop.
There is also now a trend of men who have their acts together, leaving dating apps for matchmakers. Sure, time and money are a factor but it’s more they truly want a life partner. And most women are somewhat traditional when it comes to a relationship. They want a man who is committed and monogamous with them.
Again, this is not about women staying at home, giving up careers but having a relationship like the ones portrayed in the 1950s and 1960s TV shows. Do a little online searching, Ozzie and Harriet or Bewitched.
There is so much talk about kids being addicted to social media and not interacting in person, maybe the same is true with adult relationships.
Love is a great foundation but really having the relationship based on all the right things, hopefully now is more than just a trend.
