Is The MeToo Movement Turning More Women Bisexual And Lesbian ?

The #MeToo Movement got its start after some high-profile sexual assault cases, like Harvey Weinstein, about a year ago. There is certainly no place in society for men who use power to take advantage of women or taking advantage of women, period. But there is now even a more fascinating shift. Is the MeToo Movement turning more women bisexual and lesbian ?

The term bicurious is now being thrown around. Women now are having more dater’s anxieties about sexual assault. This is all a direct consequence or biproduct of the MeeToo movement which has created a hypersensitivity to what may be politically correct.

Just a week ago we did an article about the effect that the Judge Kavanaugh confirmation process has had on the whole topic and how it is now much worse for daters.

It seems now women are more curious and flexible about their sexuality. According to Chelsea Reynolds, Ph.D., an assistant professor of communications at Cal State Fullerton. For some women, the idea of being with a woman, when dating someone new, seems like it may be a safer or more comfortable choice. For an already bisexual woman, dating less men now seems to be the trend pushing them more toward being lesbian.

According to Stop Street Harassment, over 81% of women have experienced some form of inappropriate sexual behavior up through their teenage years

Added to that, there are a lot of women who don’t support President Trump. In fact on the free dating site, OKCupid, 72% of women say a Trump supporter is a deal breaker !

On the opposite of that spectrum is TrumpSingles.com, where trump supporters can now find like minded singles. According to researchers at both Yale and Stanford, tens of thousands of people are signing up. And you guessed it, their slogan is “Make Dating Great Again”.

But an equally alarming statistic is that rape like to online dating and dating apps is up over a whopping 450% in just the past 5 years ! Based on that alone, the idea of using a matchmaker or dating coach seems like a no brainer.

With this new change in the world of dating, it seems the most important thing is communication. Now more than ever people need to discuss openly about boundaries BEFORE they begin dating.

Is the MeToo Movement turning more women bisexual and lesbian ? The answer does seem like it has but it has also changed the entire conversation in ways that only time will sort out.
